These three novels and video are focused on the story of a young man, Willie Maykett, who enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Viet Nam assigned to the 145th Combat Aviation Battalion. The story follows Willie Maykett through his combat career to his reintroduction to the harsh realities of civilian life back in the United States. The Will He Make It Saga is the main plot of the Brian Wizard's 20th Century Anthology collection of novels.
 
This saga is continued in the Vietnam 1999 "Make Friends, Not War" short story.
